Course Overview

The unit comprises a 19 page document with two 30 to 45-minute lessons that encourage students to design and create an original character that took a weakness and made it into a strength.

Unit Objective
At the end of the unit, students should be able to:
  • Create an original character by naming, designing, and developing a backstory highlighting a weakness turned into a strength
  • Demonstrate creativity and an understanding of how perspective can transform challenges into opportunities
  • Collaborate in small groups to create a team of characters with unique differences and develop a short story
  • Illustrations will demonstrate how individual strength and teamwork can overcome challenges
